DESCRIPTION:Having a Caring\, Integrity-Filled and Thorough Response to Crisis\n  \nTarget Audience:     Any employee who handles claims \nTrainer:                    Sherry Colgan Stone\, ASCIP Consultant \nHow to Register:      Email Kimberly Kennedy at kennedy@ascip.org \n  \nWhen bad things happen at schools\, employees often don’t know how to treat or act towards the victims\, the families and their co-workers.  People are afraid to say or do something that might leave the impression the district is at fault\, so they become defensive or even neglectful.  This workshop addresses how being considerate and thoughtful in the response to difficult events can save the district money\, time and heartache\, restore the district’s reputation and help the victims\, their families and co-workers recover in a healthy\, caring environment. \nParticipants will learn about ASCIP’s policies which encourage doing the right thing and the company’s philosophy on creating a caring environment. \n  \nParticipants will be able to: \n-Assess their district’s policies\, procedures\, and current capabilities in order to identify strengths and areas to improve. \n-Plan and implement ways to assist victims and families in the event of a crisis. \n-Identify key training to incorporate into the district’s professional development. \n-Discuss ASCIP’s philosophy on doing good when things go bad at schools. \n  \nIt is very important to send one representative from your District to attend this training. \nAs always\, there is no charge to ASCIP members or our invited guests to attend this training. \n
